Hi, I'm Wei Qing
Hi! Below is my story why I would like to become UI/UX designer :D

Do I really want to pursue a career in design? I asked myself.
Ever since I was young, I have enjoyed drawing, but I chose the science stream in secondary school, and I opted for business during STPM (equivalent to A-levels). During the Covid-19 pandemic, I tried making hair and clothing mods for Sims 4 and suddenly realized that I still loved art.
So, I followed my heart and chose to study design, eventually graduating from UTAR.

In year 2, I chose to major in web design and development. For my final year project in year 3, I predictably chose web design and development again. The reason was to challenge myself.

Web design? UI/UX? While learning web design and development, I acquired various design skills and knowledge, such as HTML, CSS, and basic PHP. Solving problems, from start to finish, brought me great satisfaction.
I was first introduced to UI/UX during 2 university courses (illustration & motion graphic). At that time, it was the superficial introduction, designing only the onboarding screen and the main screen. During the motion graphics course, I became interested in UI/UX and began exploring everything related to it.
Meanwhile, I had a theoretical course that required me to reflect on my FYP work, during which I learned various UIUX design principles. These principles gave me a deeper understanding of UIUX.

My background in graphic and web design allowed me to quickly self-learn UI/UX. For me, solving problems is a challenging task, but I enjoy it. Even though the process can be a bit painful, but the result brings me immense joy.
I enjoy every moments when ideas transformed into reality. I also value the balance between functionality and aesthetics.

In my spare time, I might be browsing through Awwwards, Behance, and Instagram to look at other people's work.
I also play games (Sims 4, farming games, Animal Crossing), seek out matcha-related foods and take design courses to learn new skills.
Thanks for stopping by and read my story!
